Mashpi Lodge is a true hideaway in the woods. Only its privileged guests can access this spectacular plateau. The Lodge offers unparalleled views of the surrounding forested mountains through its panoramic windows. Like a cathedral in the middle of the natural world, it stands out from the green hill, containing within itself comfort and unknown pleasures.
It seems incomprehensible that such a wild and remote place can be associated with a city, however Mashpi is located within the Metropolitan District of Quito, the capital of Ecuador. The Lodge rests at 950 meters (3,117 feet) above sea level and the reserve within which it is located has an altitude that ranges from 500 meters to 1200 meters above sea level. Even our local guests express amazement that such an incredible natural area is within the city limits, and that it can be visited without major logistical complications.
